Solarization
For this photograph, I did a solarization technique. To create this image, I printed the photograph on paper for 8 seconds and put it in the developer for 30 seconds. After putting it in the developer, I put the paper under the white light for 30 seconds and then repeat the developing process. The picture that I have chosen to do is a photograph of a beach chair looking out to Lake Ontario. The photograph was taken at my grandma and nopa's (grandpa) boat house in Port Credit, Mississauga. When I use to live at my grandparents house in the summer/spring, every morning I always grabbed a chair and look out to the lake and watch the sun rise. Some of the reasons why I love this photograph is because it looks like it was taken in the 1960s. Taking the photograph, the effect that I used was short - depth of field, as you can see by looking at the photo only the chair is in focus and everything in front of it is blurry. Also this photograph can tell many different types of stories from which audience is looking at it. Some things that I can improve on, is to make the photograph more focused, so you can see the chair more clearly. Overall, I feel that I did a good job on this photograph and I am especially proud of the photo that I chose do the solarization for.
