Mix Lighting
1.Tree Trunk:
This image tells the story of teleportation. For this photo, I used a mixture of natural light and flashlight. I set the timer on the camera for 3 seconds in order to get the circle effect required to tell this story. In order to ensure that the image was still and focused, the camera was on a tripod. The story and vision behind this photo would not be possible without the use of the flashlight. The multiple beams of light that are visible on the left side of the circle, represent a movement of teleportation - travelling through light. The natural knot in the tree, which happens to be in the middle of the circle of light, aids in telling the story by being the perfect opening to the teleportation portal.
2. The Egyptian Fairy:
The inspiration for this photograph is the motion of the Egyptian fairy while using mixed lighting. To get the effect I desired, I put the camera timer on for 10 seconds. In order to capture the natural movement of the fairy I used a tripod to keep the camera as still as possible. As a secondary light, I used a flashlight. I pointed the flashlight directly at the wings. When looking at this photograph, you can see a glow around the fairy’s wings which amplifies the movement of the fairy. The flashlight also creates a metallic or shiny effect on the fairy's wings which adds a fantastical aspect to this photograph.
