Painting With Light
1. My idea for this photograph was to create something that is realistic but not. I captured this image by setting the timer up for 20seconds. I flashed and swirled the light directly at the camera to create the effect of water coming out of the faucet tab. I have wanted to experiment with this idea for a great deal of time, and never thought that the outcome would look so surreal. When I look at this photograph it reminds me of a Stranger Things episode. This is because, the light at the top of the faucet tab looks like god or a none earthly being reaching out from the tab. Furthermore the lights that are hitting the tray full of water look like fines that are trying to grab something. This beam of light creates the image of something non-human or creature-like. This sets the mood of that resembles the "upside-down" in Stranger Things.
2. My vision for this photograph was to experiment with how different shades of light look when shined on a stereo. On the image on the left I used my phone light, and for the image on the right I used a regular flashlight. The difference between both photos is that the phone light is more white than the regular light. Which is blue. This effect has an affect on the overall mood of both images. The image on the left gives you more of a dark-feeling because of the lack of colour. Also, some parts of the stereo aren't shown which creates a mysterious feeling towards people looking at this photograph. The image on the right gives you more of a futuristic vibe from the affect of the colour of the flashlight. Because the flash has more of a blue affect it has a clear view of all the white features, which almost creates a face on the stereo. Looking at the photograph on the right, reminds me of a monster from Monster Inc. The tape that is on the radio even looks like teeth, which helps create the monster affect. However, both images can show/create different perspectives of people looking at these images. In conclusion, I feel really proud of both these photos that I took, I believed that it shows creative parts from using the flashlight.
